Description
In the engineering design process, oftentimes a large number of simulations have to be run to investigate the influence of design parameters, such as geometrical variation, boundary conditions or material properties. The analysis of such simulation bundles can be quite challenging. While traditional post-processing techniques based on scalar or integral quantities can capture only specific aspects of the solution, the simulation usually contains much more information that can be exploited. Therefore, SimExplore focuses on a global and data-driven analysis to identify similarities and patterns in the high-dimensional simulation results.
SimExplore is a stand-alone software tool including an interactive GUI based on Qt and an efficient computing back-end to handle large data. For the purpose of dimension reduction, unsupervised machine learning routines, namely Diffusion Maps and the Laplace Beltrami Operator, have been implemented in C++.
